Quality Control

Responsibilities

-Monitors contractor’s performance and makes sure that structural construction and applicable welding, NDE and Coating activities are safely and timely carried out in accordance with specifications and regulations in the contract.
-Shall identify and report deviations from the agreed scope of work and schedule, and where required, suggest remedial action/s as required during the execution phase.
-Be an HSSE ambassador. Ensures that HSSE procedures are adhered to, and proactively strive for good HSSE and quality performance throughout the work.
-Participates in tool-box meetings and Safety Meetings
-Where required participate in Readiness Reviews prior to starting structural construction and welding activities.
-Proactively assist Contractor in resolving structural construction and welding quality related technical issues that may arise during the execution of work scopes onsite.
-Liaises with the Site Manager / QC Lead and ensures that the Jacket is constructed as per project design and Company Requirements
-Where required, reviews and comments on structural ITP, attends and verify, and sign off applicable established inspection points on behalf of the Company.
-Monitors and attends Mechanical Completion activities for the structural discipline.
-Seeks for continuous improvement of work processes and products within own responsibility area.
-Liaises with relevant disciplines with regards to interdisciplinary interfaces and releases, NDE, dimensional control, mechanical, piping, coatings, etc.
-Daily and weekly reporting to QC Lead/Site Manager on ongoing activities.
-Contribute to Lessons Learned, experience transfer and Close Out Report
-Progressively reviews relevant documents, reports and records (specifications, procedures, drawings, material, welding, NDE, dimensional, etc.) and formally report on noted discrepancies or deviations.
-Where required, carry out and report on assigned surveillance audits on identified structural or welding elements.
-Participates on Contractor scheduled yard Quality Walks and report any observations, where applicable.
-Follows up and verifies closure of issues and any continues improvement initiatives in the yard.

Required expertise

-Minimum certification to CSWIP 3.1 or equivalent. Relevant engineering degree, proficiency and certification to any NDE method will be an advantage. 
-Relevant experience from similar positions in other oil & gas projects may make up for formal education.
-Minimum 10 years relevant experience from oil and gas projects.
-Theoretical and practical knowledge and understanding of Structural Design and Fabrication.
-Knowledge to applicable project documents, industry procedures and guidelines, recommended practices, standards, and specifications.
-Proficient in MS Office, experience in use PIMS and Navisworks is an advantage.
-Experience from working at Jacket Yards is an advantage.
-Organized and independent, with good collaboration skills
-Proactive, service minded, and solution oriented.
-Strong work ethic
